| Christian greetings! As
the pastor of the North Bronx Seventh-day Adventist
church, I consider it a privilege and an honor
to be of service in the cause of Christ in these
challenging times.
At this point, I must pause to express gratitude
to God for His guidance and leadership in our
corporate and individual lives, for without
Him we can do nothing; without Him we shall
surely fail.
We live in a world where we are faced with
constant danger on every hand and to know that
God has been protecting us should not go without
an expression of our sincere thanks to Him
as a church and as a community.
Let me urge everyone to have a living connection
with Christ. This will enable us to claim and
experience God's transforming power in our
lives in these uncertain times. It is interesting
to note that the nation is constantly in a
state of alert because of the threat of terrorism.
This is indeed an unfortunate present reality.
The church is being encouraged to spare no
effort in praying for the well being and security
of the nation and in giving its full support
to the civil authorities as together we unite
to fight this demon of universal concern.
On the other hand it should be noted that
this threat should make us even more aware
of the need for a greater sense of urgency
in relation to our preparedness for the Second
Coming of Christ.
I am reminded of the words penned by John the
Revelator in Revelation 22:20, "Surely
I come quickly, Even so come Lord Jesus."
Wishing you success in all your endeavors
as you seek to please Christ.
Your brother in Christ,
Dr. Horace A. Russell (Pastor)
